Kansai Bible Institute 60th anniversary film

I made the 60th anniversary film for Kansai Bible Institute (KBI).

Being given the chance to make a church-related film for the first time in a while, I felt again, while filming and while editing, that my heart was full and glad.

May the gospel spread from KBI across Japan and the whole world. I made these films praying that, through the anniversary CD, it would spread like ripples.

I recorded 60 years of prayer and learning, handed down through generations, as live films for the anniversary CD.

How it came together

2022.01

A request, and reuniting with an old friend

When I was asked to make the anniversary film, I was reunited with an old friend who had been studying theology. As the camera rolled, I could feel my heart rejoicing. I directed from the front while my assistant ran the camera behind. For my assistant, it was their first shoot.
2022.03 — 2022.04

Promotional film and eight live films released

The promotional film was released on March 2, and to coincide with the CD's release, the live films were shared one song at a time.
2023.10

Studying at KBI

Through this anniversary film, I began to turn my eyes to world mission. The following autumn, I took and completed KBI's Kairos course (training for missionaries).
