Indonesia Mission — Official film
Kalimantan, Indonesia. Answering, through film, a story handed down for half a century.2025 | International cooperation / Education / Faith

The roots of this work go back to the 1970s — a story that began long before Narita Jun was born. In an era without smartphones or GPS, in places with no electricity or running water, those who came before lived just as the local people did, and returned again and again. In time, schools were built and dormitories went up across the region; how many families found hope through them is beyond measure.
In August 2025, Narita accompanied a mission in Kalimantan. Traveling across the region with a missionary who has served there for about 18 years, he answered the passion handed down through the years in the form of film.
The finished official film is shown at worship services and gatherings, and the newsletter Indonesia Mission News carries a QR code linking to it.
As a filmmaker
When I first encountered the church at 18, I quietly held a dream: “Someday, I want to bring hope to the world through the gift of film I’ve been given.” This film is one in which that dream took shape — just a little.
